Welcome to the Kenmore Elementary PTA Website!
We welcome everyone in our community to join our meetings, become involved, and to share their thoughts and ideas with us. The more diverse voices we have in our PTA, the stronger and more representative of our community of parents, teachers, and students that we will become. We advocate on behalf of all of our students to create an inclusive, nurturing, empowering and positive educational experience for every Kenmore Cub and their families.
Our Mission: Through the efforts of committed volunteers, Kenmore Elementary PTA is dedicated to providing support services, learning opportunities, and community events to create a positive educational environment and school community for students, parents, and staff.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Martin Luther King Jr. Day – January 15th 2024
Click here for NSD’s Elementary Adapted Land and Peoples Acknowledgment.
On the third Monday in January, we celebrate the birthday of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. This day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service, “a day on, not a day off.” Help celebrate Dr. King’s life and work for racial equality and nonviolent social change by doing something to make our community a better place!
We invite our Kenmore Community to reflect on Dr. King’s work in meaningful ways:
-
Listen to the read-aloud “Martin’s Big Words” by Doreen Rappaport
-
Read books, articles, and explore NSD’s resource guide to start meaningful conversations about race and social justice in your home and community
-
Watch a Parent Ed video or the film Who We Are at this local event 1/16
-
Volunteer at a local Day of Service event on 1/15 at Wallace Swamp Creek Park’s habitat restoration or virtual Valentine Card Making for Elders and chat
-
Contribute to Kenmore’s Little Free Food Pantry or Reading In Color Library
-
Visit the Northwest African American Museum (NAAM) for King Day 2024 celebration event on 1/15 featuring ‘Interrupting Privilege’ exhibit & kids events
-
Join KEPTA’s Racial and Educational Justice (REJ) committee or attend our next meeting 1/22 at 7pm in KE Library

Want to Volunteer at Kenmore Elementary?
Volunteers are needed for many school and PTA events, including in the classroom (per teacher’s request), field trips, in the library, popcorn Thursdays, BINGO, and so much more! You are now required to submit an application through the Northshore School District in order to volunteer within the district. It is important to note that all volunteers who have completed a background check in the past will be expected to renew their volunteer application annually.
There are two different levels of background checks. Level 1 is for volunteering on campus, Level 2 is volunteering on field trips.
Here is the link to the Northshore School District’s volunteer application information!
Cut & Chat
Every Wednesday morning from 9:10 am until10:10 am, volunteers help fulfill teacher work orders, such as cutting, pasting, laminating, stapling, etc.
Volunteers may attend at their convenience and can bring small children and infants. Check in with Ms. K and head to the Activity Room! Contact Amy Bornemeier for more information!
