Family Culture Night

Family Culture Night

This year’s Family Culture Night will be held on Friday, Oct 20th at Kenmore Elementary School. Our theme is I Belong…Building Community Together. ALL families are welcome to join Family Culture Night from 5:30-8:00pm. This event is an opportunity for staff, students and families to share their unique identities, cultures, and traditions with our KE community. Culture is more than country or heritage. It can also be what makes you and/or your family unique; e.g., special skill or talent, neurodiversity such as ADHD, family values, anything that makes you YOU! Come and enjoy a family night together and learn alongside each other.

The evening is a two part event:

  1. 5:30pm-6:30pm: A community gathering where families can explore student created displays sharing their family culture & potluck food as well as watch cultural performances in the gym.
  2. 6:30-8:00pm: A 3-part rotation schedule that allows families to choose between 20-min workshops in various locations on campus. Activities include: Kendo “the Art of the Sword,” African dance, All About India, Theater Games, Art & Crafts, a Piñata workshop and more. Do you want to teach a workshop?
