May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and we are shining our spotlight on Anti-racist Collaboration in Education.
Anti-Racist Collaborations in Education is about putting words and ideas into action, treating our schools as part of the community, not separate from it. We do this by recognizing leadership in all community members and trusting that people who look, speak, or live differently than we do have the much needed expertise in areas (culture, compassion, empathy, life experiences) that will enrich the lives of our students and foster educational justice in our community.
Check out our Monthly Connections page, where families may explore this concept through stories and activities, and parents will find suggested podcasts, videos, and other resources. The REJ Committee will share a new theme each month in order to assist our community growth in racial literacy, cultural competency and equitable education.
