For the fourteenth year in a row, KEPTA is sponsoring the Artist in Residence program with Sowah Mensah, a master drummer, ethnomusicologist, and composer from Ghana.
Sowah is working with every student this week, building on the rhythms and techniques they’ve learned from him and Mrs. Bohnet in previous years. Instruments include drums, gyils and adenkum (xylophones and gourds from Ghana), and voice.
Join us for an evening performance on Thursday, March 14 at 6:30, which will showcase the skills Kenmore students have been learning during this inspiring week! Or, join the school on Friday, March 15 from 2:20-3:10 for a music-filled assembly.
